It’s Christmas!!

A very short post today as the pre-chrimbo lethargy is settling in as I suspect it is in most schools across the country.

However, I am aware that you may need some lessons to keep the children both entertained and educated so I present you with a couple of Christmas-themed physics lesson ideas which are suitable for KS2 and KS3 classes.

Lesson ideas and resource

The first is a make your own Christmas buzzer game which asks students to use what they know about electrical circuits to build a game in the shape of a Christmas tree.  The second is a great class activity where students compete to see whose balloon sleigh can travel the furthest and then use force diagrams to explain why the sleigh moved.

Further details of both activities can be found on this christmas science games PowerPoint which contains instructions for both activities.

As this will be the last post before school”s out may I take this opportunity in wishing you all a fun yet restful holiday.
