"I have had the pleasure of working with Gemma on several occasions.

During my time as Science Commissioning Editor at Nelson Thornes Gemma was involved in writing KS3 and KS4 science teaching materials for various projects - both for print and online resources. More recently I have commissioned Gemma on behalf of my client in my new freelance project management capacity.

I have no hesitation in recommending Gemma to my clients for their projects, she is a very talented science education writer. She follows briefs very well and brings great ideas and originality to a project. Her experience as a secondary science teacher is reflected in her clear but engaging writing style. Gemma has always delivered her work on time and is always willing to take on the less than straight forward jobs; for example, she recently edited and rewrote some materials written by another author, in order to make them fit the project brief. I look forward to working with Gemma again soon."

Sharon Thorn (Freelance project manager)

"Gemma is very knowledgeable and creative. I highly recommend her and will work with her in my future projects."

Rashin M (Koantum)

"Excellent work completed to deadline, with clear and professional communication throughout. The task had some unusual specifications but Gemma understood and fulfilled them perfectly."

Richard B (PlayBrighter)

"Gemma creates sound, engaging and clear content, which is pitched at the right level and in line with the brief provided. Her content is supportive of students who find science difficult, and she writes in an informative and easy-to-read style. Gemma understands the challenges facing teachers in the classroom and is engaged with current issues in science education, including how to approach group based and online learning.

I can also highly recommended Gemma in terms of delivery, which is always clear, efficient and timely, even when deadlines are challenging. I’ve found Gemma to be a very reliable and responsive author who is also very helpful with queries that arise on a project, and I wouldn’t hesitate to work with her again."
